What is a List Serve
IHRIM's list serves are an IHRIM member service, to provide online
discussion resources for HR and HR systems professionals. List serve
distributes newsletters, messages, and postings to every subscriber on the
list.
The Workforce Privacy Network List Serve is intended to:
- Allow IHRIM members to communicate about privacy and
security topics
- Facilitate the development and ongoing activities of the
Privacy & Security AG
- Enable a HR community to share questions, information and
experiences as it relates to Privacy & Security
Join Our List Serve
You must be an IHRIM member, with your name appearing in IHRIM's
online directory, to join the Workforce Privacy Network List Serve.
To join, fill out the form on
IHRIM's Web Server
Because this mailing list is private, you must be approved by our
List Serve Administrator before you can become a member of this List
Serve
As you join our list serve, please be aware that this list serve is a
communications and discussion tool for Workforce Privacy Network members. Feel free to post
questions, call attention to news or developments relating to privacy or
security, pass on privacy and security jokes, or whatever. A list is only as
valuable as its subscribers choose to make it.
List Serve Etiquette
As with any community, there are guidelines governing behavior on
the list server. For instance, violating antitrust regulations, copyright
regulations, libeling others, selling, and marketing are not permissible.
- Include a descriptive entry in the subject line. This allows
members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes
it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
- Keep message brief and to the point - and warn other list
subscribers of lengthy messages either in the subject line or at
the beginning of the message body with a line that says, "Long
Message."
- Do not post commercial messages. The cyberspace term for
this is spamming. Contact people directly with products and
services that you believe would help them.
- Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on
the lists is available for all to see, and comments are subject
to libel, slander, antitrust and copyright laws.
